I accidentally posted my ceremonious first blog post before I was done complaining.
Why is Pat Sajack retiring already and what will happen with Vanna? Nobody seems to say anything about Vanna’s future but it’s on everybody’s mind. Will Ryan Seacrest find a new Vanna, or maybe he will flip the letters himself with an app. Honestly, with artificial intelligence, the whole thing could go virtual anyway; all the viewers have bad eyesight, we wouldn’t notice or care. They could have guest virtual contestants like Angela Landsbury, Winston Churchill and Hawkeye Pierce from MASH. I may start to like new technology if it’s used like that!
My biggest concern is that the puzzle will change to reflect a younger audience; I may never solve another puzzle again! What if the puzzles go trashy? “Showin’ off my new tats.” Is there some sort of union to protect our interests in all this? Where is AARP when you really need them? Thank God for the Wheel of Fortune Channel on that streaming thing! Keep Pat and Vanna coming, baby!
